About and editorial policy

A plain-English, UK-facing reference guide to superintelligence. This page is the public commitment behind every other page on the site.

Who runs it

Superintelligence Guide is written and edited by an independent UK editorial team. Pages are bylined "Editorial team" until individual author pages are added. Contact details are on the contact page.

What we publish

Evergreen guide pages, updated on a stated schedule, plus a short weekly digest. We do not run an automated news feed. We would rather have fifty pages that are right and current than five hundred that are neither.

Standards every page meets

• A named author and a "last reviewed" date at the top, and a review interval (monthly, quarterly, twice a year or yearly).
• Every factual claim about a person, company, product or policy links to a primary source: the original announcement, the paper, the regulator's page, the Hansard record.
• Plain English and UK spelling. Prices in pounds. UK law and UK regulators where they apply.
• Political developments are reported, not editorialised: what was said, when, by whom, and what others said in reply.
• Where the evidence is thin or contested, the page says so in the first paragraph, not the last.
• Nothing is published unread by a human.

How the weekly digest is produced

Once a week, software collects candidate stories from a fixed list of sources (the frontier labs' own announcements, the UK AI Security Institute, gov.uk, the Ada Lovelace Institute, and a handful of established technology desks) and drafts a short summary of each. A human editor then reads every item, cuts what is not worth your time, rewrites what is, checks each link against its source, and publishes. The software drafts; a person decides.

How sponsorship works

• Sponsored pages carry a visible "Sponsored content" notice at the top, name the sponsor, and are marked as sponsored in the page's structured data.
• Sponsors get a defined slot and an association with the site. They do not get editorial control, approval rights, or advance sight of unsponsored pages.
• On comparison pages, a sponsor may appear only in a clearly labelled box outside the ranking. A sponsor is never given a ranked position.
• One sponsor per slot, exclusive by category.
• We do not currently use affiliate links. If that changes, this page will say so, and affected pages will carry a disclosure.

How "Best tool for…" pages are tested

Each comparison page runs the same standard task through every tool listed, on a UK account, at UK prices, on a phone and on a desktop. The page states the date it was last tested. All comparison pages are re-tested monthly; if a page has not been tested in the last 60 days, its ranking is withdrawn until it has.

Use of AI in producing this site

AI tools are used to draft digest summaries, suggest structure and check consistency. They are not used to generate guide pages unsupervised, and no page is published without a human having read all of it.
